The UK economy grew greater than estimated during the first quarter.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows growth of 0.4{06aeb1921e0b802d2bd9c766bc98fb11cc6a46c2b0593ed9c88a0e29cf417a34} in the period, compared to the estimated 0.3{06aeb1921e0b802d2bd9c766bc98fb11cc6a46c2b0593ed9c88a0e29cf417a34}.

This is believed to be in part due to an improved performance in the construction industry.

Over a twelve month period (commencing from the 1st quarter in 2014), growth was 2.9{06aeb1921e0b802d2bd9c766bc98fb11cc6a46c2b0593ed9c88a0e29cf417a34}, up from an earlier estimate of 2.4{06aeb1921e0b802d2bd9c766bc98fb11cc6a46c2b0593ed9c88a0e29cf417a34}.

The latest revision is the third estimate for the period.
