Marks and Spencer has suffered a setback after reports of a drop in non-food sales.
Revenues fell 0.4{06aeb1921e0b802d2bd9c766bc98fb11cc6a46c2b0593ed9c88a0e29cf417a34} in the 13 weeks up to end of June this year for general goods, includes clothing.
That compares with growth of 0.7{06aeb1921e0b802d2bd9c766bc98fb11cc6a46c2b0593ed9c88a0e29cf417a34} in the previous quarter, which had been M&S’s best performance for nearly four years.
In contrast, like-for-like sales of food rose 0.3{06aeb1921e0b802d2bd9c766bc98fb11cc6a46c2b0593ed9c88a0e29cf417a34}.
