With a fall of 0.4{06aeb1921e0b802d2bd9c766bc98fb11cc6a46c2b0593ed9c88a0e29cf417a34} in the 13 weeks to 27 June, how will M&S turn fortunes around?
As we know, many high street retailers are struggling. Whilst food sales appear to be moving from strength to strength, M&S will no doubt continue to make efforts to revitalise their non food sales dept, but this not proving easy. We will be interested to see how this situation develops over the coming months.
I do not believe the quality M&S brings to the marketplace is in question, but with so many competitors, perhaps compromising marginally on quality but winning on price, continues to prove problematic to the M&S model.
